December 12, 2006 --- 10 YEARS MARRIED!!!
We met December 12, 1995 and were married December 12, 1996 one day after he got off the plane from Australia. We had met ONLINE a year earlier, we became pen pals but it was so much more than that....we fell in love instantly ....I never believed in soul mates before Darren...I thought it was a sweet idea but with Darren it was so...for how could it be otherwise... we are so happy. We love each other with a kind of love you read about in novels.....it's a kind of love that is meant to be...he is my best friend and I adore, respect and think he is most wonderful person I've ever met. Darren's love helps me be the best I can be. Together we choose to live happy, so we choose to work things out and get beyond any obstacles in our way. Just wanted you to know we didn't just marry without much thought. Over the year of Emailing, we both watched how the other responded to situations that arose. I know I was pleased every time as to how Darren choose to work things out. Before he arrived, I'd spoken to his parents, siblings and friends as he had mine. We didn't just do this without thought. I will say this.....never did I have a doubt. When situations   arose, I'd ask him how he'd handle it...and the solution was always better than anything I'd thought of.....NEVER a doubt!   That's how I knew it was right.
This is a picture of Donny, eight years old at the time, me, Darren, Tammy and Brian (my oldest son and his wife) taken at our wedding....you see we were married at the local park... some friends hung ribbons and made my bouquet and cake. It was so beautiful and the ceremony was given by Martha, another dear friend and ordained minister.
They did an article in Australia about us called "Love At First Byte" maybe someday we'll send them an update......
We have had a hard time.....INS was horrid, trying to get permission in time to allow Darren to stay.....to work....well it was so scary cause we had so much obstacles....and INS was so uncaring....although very stressful ...together we did it...at least we made it this far....and we take it one day at a time....This page, this some is dedicated to my Darni who came across the world, who sold all he had, said good-bye to his friends and family not knowing if or when he would return.....and came to me...into my arms to be held....to hold for now an for always...
October 24, 2004, UPDATE....we move toward our 8th year of marriage, we are doing well.  Darren was honored at HP for 5 years (that's as a permanent employee, 3 as contract)....one month ago, Sept 24, Darren was sworn in as a USA citizen  (see some photos below)
